Ambassador meets with Mutare students

Zimbabwe, Harare – The Angolan ambassador to Zimbabwe, Pedro Hendrik Vaal Neto, met over the weekend with Angolan students at Africa University in that Southern African eastern Mutare province. At the meeting that served for his introduction as new Angolan ambassador to Zimbabwe, Pedro Hendrik Vaal Neto encouraged the students to continue with their studies as part of their participation in the country’s development. 

Congolese Environment minister jets in

Luanda,  Luanda - Congolese minister of Environment, Henri Djombo, arrived Monday in Luanda to analyse with the Angolan authorities issues related to the Joint Declaration on the World's Three Tropical Forest Basins. On his arrival in Luanda, Henri Djombo, who did not speak to the press, received welcome greetings from his Angolan counterpart, Fátima Jardim. 

Government pledges commitment to people's living conditions

Huambo, Huambo – The government of the central highland province of Huambo reiterated its determination to continue committed to the creation of actions that enable a substantial reduction of the people's pressing issues. The government commitment is expressed in a note distributed to media organs, in the light of celebration of the Workers International Day, on May 1. 

Verónica Bartolomeu represents Angola at Elite Model Look Internacional 2012

Luanda,     Luanda - The Angolan model Verónica Bartolomeu (18) and 1,79-metre tall will represent the country at Elite Model Look International 2012 final likely to take place again in China in October this year, following her victory of Saturday’s Elite Model Look Angola/2012 held in Luanda. She was announced winner of EML Angola/2012 by the chairwoman of the Elite Model Look International, Michaela Goddard-Quesada. 

Officials acknowledge government commitment

Luanda, Luanda – Administrative officials of Ícolo e Bengo and Quiçama districts, Luanda, have recognised the Angolan government efforts focussed on rehabilitation of tertiary roads of access to those localities. Asked on the rehabilitation and maintenance of tertiary roads, the administrator of Quiçama district, Ana Maria da Silva, told Angop that the programme will ensure the movement of people and goods and enable the functioning of several institutions in the region.

Agents attend seminar on electoral legislative package

Lunda Sul , Saurimo – At least 110 electoral agents of Lunda Sul are participating from Monday in Saurimo, Lunda Sul, at a provincial seminar on Electoral Legislative Package. During three days, the participants discuss a set of laws that shape the electoral process in order to enable them to fulfil the tasks that with culminate in the holding of forthcoming general elections. 

Elite Model contest chairwoman recognises Angola's potential

Luanda, Luanda – The chairwoman of the Elite Model Look International, Michaela Goddard-Quesada, said the Angolan candidates stand good chances of winning the world fashion modelling contest, in view of their performance. Speaking to Angop on the fringes of the final of the Elite Model Look Angola 2012 (EML Angola), Michaela Goddard-Quesada said the Angolan girls have been showing a good performance and very successful. 

Workshop on electoral legislative package

Kwanza Norte, Ndalatando - The Provincial Electoral Commission (CPE) runs as from Monday, in northern Kwanza Norte province a seminar on the Electoral Legislative Package. The training aims at equipping the authors of the process on the interpretation of legislation that will support the general elections scheduled for this year.
