Bishop calls on new generation to follow "Case 50" members' deeds

Luanda, Luanda - The assistant bishop of Luanda diocese,  Anatácio Cahango, advised the new generation to contribute to the country's development, seeking as example the posture of the members of the “Case 50” colonial lawsuit against Angolan nationalists, ANGOP has learnt. Speaking to ANGOP, after a reception hosted by the provincial government of Luanda, the cleric also said that what is good should stay.

Angola at annual meeting of PALOP operational unit

Lisbon , Lisbon – Experts of the Angolan Ministry of Justice are attending this Friday in an annual Operational Technical and Official Justice Data Base Management Unit of the African Portuguese Speaking Countries (UTOG), taking place in the headquarters of (CPLP) in Lisbon. The meeting, which started on Thursday, is being attended by representatives of the Ministries of  Justice, national press and other partners, such as lawyers, members of the law faculties of the African Portuguese speaking countries (PALOP).

Integrated services for citizens inaugurated in Huambo

Huambo,  Huambo - The State minister for Economic Co-ordination, Manuel Domingos Vicente, inaugurated last Thursday in Huambo City the Integrated Services for Citizens (SIAC), ANGOP witnessed. The mentioned infrastructure aims at avoiding bureaucracy and centralisation of public services and bring the citizens closer to the public administration. 

Writer Pitra Neto sells book on Administrative Law

Huambo ,   Huambo - The Angolan jurist and university lecturer, António Pitra Neto, last Thursday sold and signed autograph on his book entitled “Resumo Sobre Matéria de Direito Administrativo” in the central Huambo province. This initiative is aimed at enriching the bibliography of students with José Eduardo dos Santos University.

BCI bank inaugurates one more branch in Uije

Uíge,               Uíge - The Commerce and Industry Bank (BCI) last Thursday opened one more mobile branch in the northern Uije Province, says a source with the institution. The new branch will provide all the services, meant to facilitate customers and other beneficiaries. Among the services are Western Union, credits and salary processing.

Luanda, Luanda - The plan for stimulating commerce in rural communities, elaborated in 2010, under the programme of fighting against hunger and poverty foresees the construction of commercial infrastructures, ANGOP has learnt. 

Public policies in favour of women under debate

Luanda,               Luanda - A talk on the personal engagement of the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, in the drafting of  public policies in favour of women is scheduled for  Friday, in Luanda, ANGOP has learnt. The meeting will be chaired by the MP Joana Lina, that is also the First Deputy Chairwoman of the National Assembly (Parliament).  

Discrimination against women debated

Luanda, Luanda - The MP Júlio Ornelas, with the ruling MPLA party, on Thursday  here said that the eradication of all forms of discrimination against women is an important  challenge for all human rights movements in Africa. The MP said so during a talk on the theme “Women’s role in the electoral process and small notions on electoral law". 

Refugees want to stay in Namibia

Luanda, Luanda - Angola's minister of Assistance and Social Reintegration, João Baptista Kussumua, said Thursday that only 36 out of the 5.000 refugees living in Namibia returned to the country, since may 2011, ANGOP has learnt. The official said so during a concert meeting he had on the situation of the Angolan refugees in that neighbouring country, which was attended by the Namibian minister of Internal Affairs and Migration, Rosália Nghidinwa.
