Army general staff regrets air force's board technician

Luanda, Luanda – The General Chief of Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda regretted on Saturday here the death on Wednesday of the board technician, Manuel Andre, following a plane crash. According to a note of condolence addressed to the mourning families, General Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda said that it was with deep regret that he learned of the plane crash occurred in Cachiungo district, central Huambo province. 

Governor checks implementation of social projects in Ganda

Ganda, Ganda - The acting governor of the province of Benguela, Agostinho Estevao Felizardo Friday assessed the progress of ongoing social construction works in the municipality of Ganda. Accompanied by some members of the local government, Agostinho Felizardo went to the communes of Chikuma, Casseque, Ebanga Babaera where he could check the project to build 10 homes of T-3 TYPE, an equal number of bedrooms, combined with system network of water, toilets and laundries.

Army general staff addresses condolences for death of TPA reporter

Luanda, Luanda - The General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) Saturday regretted the death on Wednesday, of the cameraman of the Public Television of Angola (TPA) Feliciano Saiminho "Magico," victim of an accident in the province of Huambo.In the message signed by Chief of General Staff of FAA, Army General Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda, addressed to the bereaved family, delivered to Angop, says that it was with deep regret that the General Staff of FAA learned of the plane crash in Cachiungo municipality, province of Huambo.

CPLP ministers recommend better education systems

Luanda, Luanda – The Education Ministers of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP), gathered in their 7th extraordinary meeting, recommended on Friday Luanda combined and coordinated efforts in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of education systems of member states. According to a final declaration, the 1990 orthographic deal of Portuguese language is a tool that all member countries are committed to and it represents a true contribution to promote and defend the Portuguese language in the community and world. 

Edy Tussa enlivens nationalists' gala

Luanda, Luanda – The Angolan singer Edy Tussa, on Thursday in Luanda thrilled members of “processo 50”, during a homage gala, under the group’s 53rd anniversary. It was in 1950s that a group of nationalists was arrested by the Portuguese colonial authorities claiming for freedom and independence of Angola. The gala, promoted by the provincial governor of Luanda, also counted on the participation of the Angolan veteran musicians Eliás Dya Kimuezo and Bangão. 

Kilamba Centre marks 10 years of peace with Jovens do Prenda group

Luanda, Luanda – “Os Jovens do Prenda” group will enliven the edition of April of Musongue da Tradição programme, so as to mark on 4 April the 10 years of peace in the country at Luanda’s Kilamba Cultural and Recreational Centre. This was said to Angop on Friday by the head of the venue, Estêvão Costa. Os Jovens do Prenda group was founded in 1966 by youths resident in Prenda commune in Luanda.

Samba ward gains new cultural venue

Luanda, Luanda – Luanda’s Samba ward gained on Thursday a new recreational and cultural venue named “Yami Club”. Speaking to Angop on Friday, the promoter of events, Luís Emídio Quiteque said that the venue will serve for entertainment for people and will support the efforts made by the local authorities in order to boost culture in this ward. The inauguration ceremony was enlivened by Angolan singers, namely Tulewis, Adi Cudz, Madruga Yoyo, Os Três, Lil Saint.

Inácio Olím elected chairman of Luanda hockey association

Luanda, Luanda – The former coach and goal keeper, Inácio Olím, was elected new chairman of the Provincial Roller Skate Association of Luanda (APPL) for 2012-2016 quadrennial. The new chairman will replace Hirondino Garcia that the led the association for eight years. Inácio Olím aims to spread hockey, reinforce the competition and re-emergence of female roller skate tournament, as well as the artistic roller skate. The new chairman will be invested on 14 April.

Angola/Namiba ministerial meeting on water kicks off

Ondankua, Ondankua  – Angola and Namibia ministerial meeting on power and water started on Friday afternoon, after the technical analysis of the standing commission experts of the two countries. The event was led by the Angolan Energy and Water Minister, João Borges and Namibian Minister of Agriculture, Water and Rural development, John Matorro.

Angola invited to attend conference on oil trading

Brazzaville,  Brazzaville - Angola will attend on 2-6 April in Brazzaville a Conference on Trading and Financing of Oil, Gas and Natural Resources. The Angolan delegation, led by the Oil Vice-minister Aníbal Silva and comprised by five people, is expected in Brazzaville on Saturday. The delegation will be reinforced by two diplomats stationed in Angolan embassy in the Republic of Congo. The event will happen under the auspicious of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. (UNCTAD).
