According to a note of condolence addressed to the mourning families, General Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda said that it was with deep regret that he learned of the plane crash occurred in Cachiungo district, central Huambo province. It was in 1950s that a group of nationalists was arrested by the Portuguese colonial authorities claiming for freedom and independence of Angola.
