Acting governor highlights importance of vaccination against polio

Benguela , Cubal – The acting governor of Benguela Province, Agostinho Estevão Felizardo, last Friday in Yambala commune, Cubal Municipality, highlighted the importance of vaccinating children in early infancy against poliomyelitis, aiming for their well-being and health. Agostinho Estêvão Felizardo, who was speaking at the opening of the second stage of this polio campaign countrywide, appealed to parents and guardians to take all their children aged five or under to the vaccination posts. 

Benguela railways launches experimental trip to Kuito

Huambo, Huambo – An experimental train of the Benguela Railway Company (CFB) left on Saturday morning from Huambo City to Kuito City (Bié Province). Speaking to ANGOP, the inspector of CFB, Sabino Tchinendele, guaranteed that conditions were created for this experimental trip to be successful, 28 years after being inoperative.The experimental train’s passengers were CFB staff, including its CEO, Carlos Gomes.

Sol Bank reiterates commitment to empowering entrepreneurs

President José Eduardo dos Santos sends message to Congolese colleague

Congo Brazzaville, Brazzaville – The Angolan ambassador to Congo Brazzaville, Pedro Fernando Mavunza, last Thursday handed over a message from the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, to the Congolese President, Denis Sassou Nguesso. The message was handed out to the Congolese minister of State and Director of the Congolese President’s Office, Firmin Ayessa. 

Singer Puto Português releases DVD

Luanda , Luanda  – The Angolan singer Puto Português this Saturday held a sale and signing of autographs session of his DVD and album entitled “Geração do Semba” at Luanda’s Independence Square. Speaking to Angop, the artist said that the DVD reproduces the first live concert and presentation of the referred album, held on 4 April in 2011 at Luanda’s Cidadela pavilion.Born in Luanda on 13 May in 1987, Puto Português started his music career in 1999.

Flay sells and autographs latest album

Luanda, Luanda - The Angolan musician Joaquim Lopes da Silva with stage name of "Flay" sold and signed Saturday at Independence Square, in Luanda, his fifth CD entitled "Sempre firm". Speaking to the press, the singer said that the disc contains 10 tracks, worked out at the base of Semba, Kizomba, zouk love, rumba and merengue. He added that this discographic work was recorded in Angola and produced in Portugal.

First lady hails women contribution to country's development

Luanda, Luanda - The first lady of the Republic, Ana Paula dos Santos, Friday, in Luanda, praised the contribution of Angolan women towards the development of the country. According to Ana Paula dos Santos, who made such considerations after being honoured at the Gala of Angolan Women, women continue to make their contribution and their effort to make Angola a "country that we deserve and that our children need to have".

Singers Agre G and Esmeralda release CDs

Luanda, Luanda – The Angolan singers Agre G and Esmeralda released on this Saturday their latest CDs at Luanda’s Independence Square. Speaking to Angop, Agre G said that his new album is entitled “Estabilidade” because he has talent and agility to make, sing and dance the music style of kuduro. He said that the CD was recorded in Angola and comprises 10 tracks. 

Energy minister highlights importance Kalueque dam

Cunene, Kalueque - The minister of Energy and Water, Joao Borge, Friday in Kalueque, Cunene province, stressed the socio-economic importance of the Kalueque dam, that started being rehabilitated and expanded today.  The government official, who was addressing assignment act for rehabilitation of infrastructure, said that once again it demonstrates the will of the Angolan government in providing progress and sustainable development for the well-being of the population. 

First Lady regarded symbol of support to most disadvantaged

Luanda, Luanda - The first lady of the Republic, Ana Paula dos Santos, was considered on Friday in Luanda, as a symbol of support for the underprivileged people, taking into account her commitment and dedication to projects that have been helping to alleviate their difficulties. Speaking to the press, one of those responsible for organizing the Gala of Angolan Women, Nelson Sousa, said the first lady was also chosen for her humanist part, who through the Lwini Foundation has developed a "magnificent job that is worthy of many awards ".
