Education Ministry to recruit over 12,000 new teachers

Angola, Ndalatando – The Education Ministry will recruit 12, 819 new teachers this 2012 year, announced Tuesday in dalatando, northern Kwanza Norte province the minister Pinda Simão.Pinda Simão was speaking at the official opening of the  2012 academic year, adding that the  new teachers will join 218,233 already existing, comprising 231,52 staffers..

Governor on teachers commitment to full training of students

Kwanza Norte , Ndalatando - The governor of the northern Kwanza Norte province, Henrique André Júnior, expressed Tuesday the need for a greater commitment of teachers to conveying the knowledge that promote the full education of students, providing them with behaviour that contribute to their major integration within family and society. 

Luanda carnival's Class A with two debutants

Angola,  Luanda - The inclusion of groups União Os Nzambas da Kissama, of Kissama district and Dungo, (Icolo and Bengo) rises to 15 the number of participants in Class A of the Luanda Carnival, whose parade is set for February 21 at Nova Marginal. The two groups, whose integration results of the new administrative division of the provinces of Luanda and Bengo, go directly to the class A, according to the head of the culture department, Manuel Gonçalves.

Agriculture pledges solution to Kilunda Lake drying

Kilunda,  Luanda – The secretary of State for Agriculture, José Amaro Tati, said there are solutions to the drying of the Kilunda Lake, in Luanda. This was said during a visit the official paid to that place, adding that the main purpose of the visit was to learn of the problems people are facing there and try to study with the local administration a possible solution.  The Kilunda Lake comprises 25 square kilometres and provides water for irrigation of farms and for fishing.

Road accidents kill over 200 people in Kwanza Sul

Kwanza Sul, Sumbe - At least 265 people were killed and 925 others  injured as a result of 841 road accidents in central province of Kwanza Sul in 2011, said the local Command of the National Police. According to a National Police’s report that reached ANGOP, this is an increase of 25 road accidents, four killed and 12 injuries as compared to the same period of the previous year.

Presidents of Angola, Sao Tome and Principe meet

Angola, Luanda – The presidents of Angola and Sao Tome and Principe, respectively José Eduardo dos Santos and Manuel Pinto da Costa, held Tuesday a private meeting at the presidential palace in Luanda.Manuel Pinto da Costa, who started Monday a two-day official visit to Angola, was received Tuesday afternoon by his Angolan counterpart, José Eduardo dos Santos.

Over 6,000 tonnes of crops harvested in Tomboco

Zaire , Tomboco – At least 8,423 tonnes of crops were harvested in the 2010/2011 agricultural season in Tomboco district, northern Zaire province, Angop learned. This was said Tuesday by the chairperson of the Angolan National Farming Union (Unaca), José Tembe. According to the source, the crops harvested are beans, peanut, banana, pineapple, avocado, cassava, sweet potato, inhume and others.

President of Sao Tome optimistic about Angola's development

Angola, Luanda - The president of Sao Tome and Principe, Manuel Pinto da Costa, stressed Tuesday in Luanda the remarkable progress that Angola has been experiencing in the path of prosperity for all citizens.Addressing a solemn session of the National Assembly (Angolan Parliament), the head of State of Sao Tome said that the Angolan people, who have achieved peace against all types of hindrances, will achieve development.

All in place for start of 2012 academic year

Kwanza Norte, Ndalatando – The Angolan Education minister, Pinda Simão, Tuesday in Ndalantado, northern Kwanza Norte province, assured that the essential conditions are created, either in terms of school infrastructure or teachers to lecture all the subjects of the various levels this academic year.
