Writer António Quino presents book in Caxito

Angola, Caxito – The Angolan writer António Quino presented on Thursday to the public of Caxito city, northern Bengo province, his book entitled “Conversas de Homens no Conto Angolano”.Speaking to Angop, António Quino said that the presentation of his literary work in Bengo province is part of the third edition of book fair that is happening on 29-30 September in Caxito city.The writer said that it is a product recommended by the Angolan Writers Association (UEA), aimed at internationalising more and more the Angolan literature.

Angola thrash England in hockey world cup

Angola,  San Juan - The Angolan national senior males roller skate team thrashed on Thursday England by 7-1, in the qualifying stage from the 9th to 16th position of the hockey world cup, happening in San Juan in Argentina.  After missing the qualification for the quarter finals, Angola entered the court in order to win the game. In the first half, Angola were already winning the match by 4-1. 

FC Bravos face ASA without five key players

Angola, Luena - FC Bravos do Maquis will play ASA on Saturday without their key players at Luanda’s Cidadela stadium, in the 27th round of the national first division football championship (Girabola2011).  The footballers are the captain Nando, goal keeper Moche, defender Victor, midfielder Marlon and striker Igor.

SADC HIV/AIDS workshop ends

Angola, Luanda – The second Workshop on SADC HIV/Aids Technical Military Sub-Committee closed Thursday, in Luanda, with the approval and ready of final communiqué, documents promising to reinforce combat strategy against this sickness in the military units of the region.The closing ceremony was led by the assistant chief of the Angolan Armed Staff (FAA) for patriotic Education, General, Egídio de Sousa Santos, witnessed by high-ranking army officials of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) member States.

Benguela, Benguela - The Miss Benguela  2010, Candida Kamalanga donated Wednesday in this city, food, clothes and educational material to children of the SOS centre in order to minimise the difficulties.   The delivery of the donation is part of the activities that she made during her mandate, aimed at educating children and communities.   Candida Kamalanga said that the event was a gesture of solidarity that still lives and aimed to support the children of SOS village.

Government wants public institutions able to comply with missions

Angola, Luanda – Minister of the Public Administration, Employment and Social Security, António Pitra Neto, Thursday, here, said that the Angolan government is pledging effort toward becoming public institutions more capable to fulfil the goal they were created for. Pitra Neto stressed this information during the presentation ceremony of the new employees admitted by the Labour Inspection General.
