First phase of project to recover drug addicts unveiled soon

Huambo,  Huambo – The first phase of the project “Fazenda da Esperança” dedicated to recover drug addicts will be inaugurated in the next ten days in an initiative for the expansion strategy of the programme in several countries. The project “Fazenda da Esperança” installed in the Catholic Mission of Vavayela, located inside the city of Katchiungo, central province of Huambo will host young people addicted to drugs and alcohol.

Saving Bank to open branches Saturday

Luanda,  Luanda – The Angolan Saving and Credit Bank (BPC) will have its branches all over the country opened on Saturday, aiming at facilitating those clients who could not do transactions during the working days. This information comes stressed in a press communiqué of the bank, explaining that the branches will be opened from 8am to 12 o’clock, to pay salaries, deposits and other financial operations.  

Fashion Business Angola 2011 set for October

Luanda, Luanda – The international exhibition of clothing, footwear, cosmetics, jewellery and accessories, called "Fashion Business Angola" starts its second edition, on 14 October in the space of the Luanda International Fair (FIL), with the participation of fashion professionals Angolan and foreign. 

Justice minister works in Benguela

Benguela,  Benguela – The minister of Justice, Guilhermina Prata works from Friday in coastal Benguela province, to learn about the functional and organizational level of the sector.  For three days, Guilhermina Prata will make a visit to the works of the justice services building in the municipality of Lobito, the municipal Court of Baia Farta, as well as meeting with local officials of the sector. 

Angolan Government, Catholic Church discuss relations

Luanda,  Luanda – The Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos discussed on Friday in Luanda with the archbishop of Luanda, Dom Damião Franklim issues related to the relationship between the Angolan Government and the Catholic Church. "The meeting went very well, (...) cordially. We dealt with bilateral issues, between the church and the Angolan Government," said the prelate to reporters at the end of the audience. 

Millennium Bank opens branch in Moxico

Moxico/Bank, Luanda – The Bank Millennium Angola opens in the city of Luena, eastern province of Moxico its first branch in the region increasing to 50 the number of branch countrywide.The opening of the branch will create seven jobs to youth of the region.According to a press note that reached Angop, since January 2011 the bank opened countrywide 11 branches that enabled to create 200 direct jobs for Angolan youths.

President Dos Santos receives Namibian leader's envoy

Angola, Luanda – The head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos Friday in  Luanda received a message from his counterpart of Namibia, Lucas Pohamba addressing aspects related to the increase of business relations between the two neighbouring countries. The bearer of the message was the Namibian businessman George Namusejo who was sent  for this purpose. 

Executive Commission for School Sports Works in Huambo Province

A delegation from the National Executive Commission for Boosting Physical Education and School Sports, led by its co-ordinator, Rui Mingas, left Thursday for the central Huambo Province, where they will make an assessment of the problems linked to this sector.

OMA Centre Records 358 Cases of Domestic Violence in Samba District

At least 358 cases of domestic violence were recorded by OMA counselling centre in Samba district in Luanda from January to August 2011.
