Striker Flávio Amado pledges goals against Uganda

Angola,                Luanda – The striker of Angola's football team, Flávio Amado, has said the squad will face many difficulties on Sunday's game against Uganda, but added that he is prepared to score goals and help achieve the three points, ANGOP has learnt.Speaking to the press, Flávio Amado, who appears in the squad after 20 months due to an injury, mentioned improvements on his physical condition and hoped to reach the competitive level during this match.

Bié governor highlights arrival of train in Huambo

Angola ,             Huambo - The governor of Bié Province, Alvaro de Boavida Neto, on Tuesday here said that the resumption of the train service of the Benguela Railway Company (CFB), which goes up to Huambo Province, will boost the social and economic development of the region and the neighbouring provinces, ANGOP has learnt.

Three countries want to host Afrobasket2013

Three, Antananarivo - Tunisia, Rwanda and South Africa intend to hold the 27th edition of the African Nations Basketball Cup (Afrobasket2013), says the secretary-general of FIBA-Africa, Alphonse Bille, ANGOP has learnt. According to him, the three mentioned countries want to host the championship, but they have not formalised the intention yet, adding that the candidatures will be presented in the coming meeting of the executive board of the organ, in September. 

Artists perform in Huambo City under president's visit

Angola, Huambo– Twenty Angolan artists on Tuesday here enlivened the public of the Central Huambo Province, with the holding of a music and artistic show, ANGOP has learnt. Among the artists are Matias Damásio, Maya Cool, Ary, Yuri da Cunha, Noite$Dia, Cage One, Própria Lixa,  Bruna Tatiana, Joice, Celma Ribas, as well as the Genis band. 

Zambia's Ambassador Announces Signing of Memo

The Zambian ambassador to Angola, Raphael Chisheta, said on Monday here that it will be signed soon a memorandum of understanding with Angolan bordering provinces with Zambia, aimed at facilitating the free circulation of people and goods, as well as commercial exchange.

Head of State visits Luanda airport presidential complex

Luanda, Luanda – The Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, Tuesday evening visited the premises of the presidential complex at the Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport. José Eduardo dos Santos was returning from central Huambo province, where he inaugurated the local Albano Machado Airport and the region’s train station of the Benguela Railway (CFB), thus restoring traffic between the port city of Lobito (Benguela) and Huambo. 

Train to boost regional development - Huambo governor

Huambo, Huambo – The circulation of the CFB train from the port city of Lobito, central Benguela, to Huambo province will boost the region’s economic growth. This was said Tuesday in Huambo by the local governor, Fernando Faustino Muteka. Faustino Muteka was speaking at the inauguration by the head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, of the Benguela Railway (CFB) station in Huambo, thus restoring traffic in the region after 27 years out of operation.
