Interclube qualifies for Angola Cup semi-finals

Angola,  Luanda - Interclube has qualified for the semi-finals of the Angola Football Cup after beating Santos FC by 2-0 on Wednesday.  The goals were scored by Alex and Zé Augusto, in the 89 and 90 (+2) minutes. The champions will join 1º de Agosto and 1º de Maio de Benguela.

Ruling party regrets death of ex-MP

Angola,  Huambo – The provincial committee of the ruling MPLA party in central Huambo province Wednesday regretted the death of ex-MP of provincial electoral constituency, Maria da Concenção Wimbo Pinto. "It was with deep regret and consternation that the members of MPLA committee in Huambo learnt of the sudden death of the militant and MP Wimbo Pinto, on Tuesday in Huambo General Hospital,” reads the note of condolence extended to the bereaved family.

Millennium Angola Bank signs protocol with Women Federation

Angola, Luanda – A cooperation protocol to support small and medium enterprises was signed Wednesday in Luanda between the Millennium Angola Bank and the Angolan Federation of Business Women (FMEA). According to a note from the bank, the agreement is exclusively for FMEA members and the initiative makes provisions for granting of “Nova Vida” credit estimated at Akz 30.000 to two million for each credit transaction. 

People mobility contributes to spread of HIV/AIDS

Angola,  Benguela – The higher mobility of the population and the large number of people in poverty are factors that contribute to the spread of HIV/AIDS in the region and makes the Lobito corridor vulnerable to the epidemic.  This was said Wednesday in central Benguela province by the executive representative of the Angolan Network Organisation for AIDS Services (ANASO), António Coelho.  

Official calls for conservation of fauna

Kwanza Sul/Cela, Cela – The secretary of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, José Amaro Tati, Tuesday in Cela, central Kwanza Sul province, spoke of the need for the preservation of the country’s fauna.The official was speaking at the opening of the round table on implementation of the veterinary prophylactic programmes.The two-day event is being attended by veterinaries from across the country and is part of the programme of fight against poverty.

Luanda neighbourhoods upgrading to boost basic services

Luanda, Luanda – The policy of upgrading of Luanda neighbourhoods will boost the provision of social basic services like sanitation, drinking water and electricity.This was said Wednesday in Luanda by the civil construction entrepreneur, Roberto Webba.Speaking to Angop, the businessman said that urban structures are increasing and improving the value of the areas and give more dignity to residents.

Ondjiva/Santa Clara stretch with parallel road for trucks

Cunene, Ondjiva – The rehabilitation of the Ondjiva/Santa Clara stretch includes the construction of a 20-kilometre parallel road to divert the traffic of gargo trucks travelling from the capital of the southern Cunene province, Ondjiva.This was announced by the head of the China Roads and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) building firm, Steven Lee, who added that the road is located eight kilometres off Ondjiva city.

Moroccan referees to officiate in Luanda

Angola, Luanda – A team of four Moroccan football referees, led by El Ahrach Bouchaib, has been appointed to officiate the fifth and penultimate round (group J) game between Angola and Uganda on Sunday at Luanda’s “11 de Novembro” Stadium.  

MPs to gain new offices in Malanje

Malanje, Malanje - The northern Malanje province will gain a two-storey building in 2012 to house offices of the Members of Parliament of the provincial constituency.The building will comprise private offices for each MP, administrative divisions and working rooms equipped with technological equipment.
