Matadidid Mário sells new album

Angola, Luanda – Angolan singer Matadidi Mário Muana Kitoko, will be on Sunday, 31, at the Independence Park, in Luanda, to sell and autograph his latest solo album entitled “Masikilo”. In an interview to ANGOP, a source with the singer said Matadidi will return to the venue to satisfy demand of fans that did not purchase the album at the first session. 

Citizens detained for illegal entry at border

Angola, Ondjiva - Some 13 national and foreign citizens were detained, over the last seven days, for illegal entry attempt through the Angola/Namibia border, ANGOP has learnt. This was announced by the spokesman of the Police in Cunene Province, Carlos dos Santos. The figure represents a reduction of seven cases in comparison to the same period of last month. 

1º de Agosto and Juventude de Viana main highlight of 13th round

Angola, Luanda – The game between 1º de Agosto A and Juventude de Viana is the main highlight for the penultimate and 13th round of Luanda provincial senior males roller-skate championship to be disputed this Saturday. The teams have the same number of points (31), in a competition led by Petro de Luanda with thirty four. In this round, Petro de Luanda will face 1º de Agosto B, fourth placed with twenty four points. 

Official points out goals for London2012 Olympic Games

Luanda, Luanda – The chairman of the Angolan Olympics Committee (COA), Gustavo Conceição, said that his institution intends to overcome in the London2012 Olympic Games the number of players that participated in the last edition. COA's chairman said so to Angop, while addressing the main act that marked the countdown for the Olympic Games, held on Thursday by the British Embassy. 

Some 570 cases of fainting recorded in 24 hours

Angola, Luanda - Some 570 cases of fainting of students at schools were recorded over the last 24 hours, in the provinces of Luanda and Namibe, for alleged intoxication through toxic gas, says the National Service of Civil Protection, ANGOP has learnt. The institution's spokesman, Faustino Sbastião, said that 474 cases were recorded in Luanda, in the districts of Cacuaco, Kilamba Kiaxi and Viana, and the remainder in the southern Namibe Province. 

Athletes gain sponsorship for London2012 Paralympics games

Luanda, Luanda - The preparation and participation of the Angolan runners in the 2012 London Paralympics games count as from Thursday on the sponsorship of British Petroleum Company (BP), Angop has learnt.This was materialised after the signing of an accord on Thursday evening in Luanda between BP and the Angolan Paralympics Committee (CPA).

Police work to explain intoxication at schools

Luanda, Luanda - Police forces have been instructed to make efforts in seeking information that enable to find explanations about the phenomenon relating to the introduction of toxic gas in schools in some provinces of the country, ANGOP has learnt. This was said by the national director of studies and regulation of the National Ppolice, Alberto Lisboa Mário, at the opening ceremony of a seminar on Prototypes and General Regulation Norms.   

Territory Administration minister works in Huambo

Huambo,               Huambo - Angola's minister of Territory Administration, Bornito de Sousa, arrived on Thursday in Huambo, to chair the official opening act of the updating of the electoral registration set for Friday, meant for the 2012 elections, ANGOP has learnt.

Sports Minister highlights Paralympics committee performance

Luanda, Luanda - Angola's Youth and Sports Minister, Gonçalves uandumba, considered as good investment on Thursday in Luanda the decision made by the British Petroleum Company (BP) in associating to the Angola Paralympics Committee (CPA) project for the London2012 Paralympic Games. "It is a good initiative because CPA has had a good performance and dynamic", said the minister after attending the signing of the sponsorship accord on Thursday. 

Under-16 ladies basketball team qualify for semi-finals

Angola, Luanda -Angola's under 16 ladies basketball team have qualified for the semi-finals of the African championship of this discipline, after defeating Algeria by 70-40, ANGOP has learnt. On Friday, Angola are playing the host team, Egypt, whereas Mali will play Tunisia. Mali are the title holders.
