MP urges society to respect Domestic Violence Law

Bocoio,  Bocoio – The need of every national citizen giving contribution to the Law on Domestic Violence and rights of women to be respected, was defended this Friday in Bocoio district, by a Member of Parliament of MPLA from Benguela province, Anabela Jordão. The deputy who was speaking at a lecture on rescue of moral and civic values, said that with the current approval of Law on Domestic Violence, the Angolan State responsibility in defending women’s fundamental rights and its protection before the law is higher. 

MPLA encourages massive participation at electoral registration

Luanda, Luanda – The country’s ruling party MPLA gathered this Saturday, here, about 5,000 militants and urged massive participation during updating of electoral registration process happening in the country until December. The encouragement was made by MPLA first secretary Bento Bento, here, at a meeting organized at Cidadela Desportivo Pavillion with members of his party municipal committees. 

Ministry presents national plan on environment management

Luanda, Luanda – The Ministry of Environment will organize from 1 to 3 August its third Consultation Council, in Luena city, Moxico province, for among other issues, present strategic lines for National Environment Management Plan 2012/2017. Under leadership of Minister Fátima Jardim, the meeting will debate projects on national policy of sanitation, country's reality and perspective. 

MPLA official calls for step up of security at schools

Luanda, Luanda – The first secretary of the ruling MPLA in Luanda, Bento Francisco Sebastião Bento “Bento Bento”, Saturday here called for stepping up of the security measures at schools, with a view to avoid the current intoxication string. Bento Bento was speaking at the meeting gathering officials from district and action committees and summoned to appeal for massive participation in updating process of  electoral registration. 

Presidential decree establishes import, export rules of ozone substances

Luanda, Luanda - A regulation stipulating the production, export, re-export and import rules of substances impoverishing ozone layer, has already been in force since 15 June in the country, under presidential decree nº153/11. The information is contained in a note released by Environment Ministry delivered to Angop Saturday. 

African Women's Day celebrated

Luanda, Luanda –  The continent  will celebrate  African Women's Day, on  July 31, ANGOP has learnt. The date was instituted on 31 July 1962, in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, by  14 countries and eight national liberation movements that attended the African Women Conference. 

Sponsorship agreement with BP praised

Luanda, Luanda – The sponsorship agreement signed last Thursday with the British Petroleum, which supports the preparation and participation of Angola in the London 2012 Olympic Games is of great value for the Angolan Paralympics Committee (CPA). This was said by the former chairman of the Angolan Olympic Committee (COA), Rogério Silva. 

1º de Agosto and Benfica de Luanda play this Saturday

Football, Luanda - 1º de Agosto can get much closer to the leadership of the first division football championship (Girabola2011) if the squad beat Benfica de Luanda this Saturday. The match, which is scheduled for 07 O’clock in the evening, counts for the 19th round of Girabola and will be played in Coqueiros Stadium, in  Luanda. 1º de Agosto are at the third position of the standing with 28 points, whereas Benfica stand 15th with 19 points.

Ambassador to China bids farewell to Angolan community

Beijing, Beijing – The Angolan ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, João Manuel Bernardo, appealed to Angolan entrepreneurs to combine their businesses with the promotion of the country’s image in a dignifying way. The diplomat said so last Wednesday in Guanbgzhou, China, at a meeting with members of the Angolan entrepreneurial community residing in this Asian country, in the framework of activities he has been carrying out to mark the end of his diplomatic mission.

Ismael Lo thrills public at Luanda Jazz Festival

Luanda, Luanda – The Senegalese musician Ismael Lo, currently one of the main references in African music, on Friday night thrilled the public at the Luanda International Jazz Festival, happening in Atlântico Cinema until Sunday. In his one hour and a half performance, Ismael Lo got effusive applauses from the audience that attended the first day of the festival.
