Under-16 basketball team captures bronze in African cup Submitted by AA Angola on 31 July, 2011 - 17:37 Angola, Luanda - Angolan under-16 ladies basketball team won the bronze medal at the African championship following a 59-55 victory over Tunisia, ANGOP learnt.The national team beat Mozambique by 62-57 and Algeria 70-40, but lost 56-89 against Egypt, 53-55 against Mali, and was once more beaten in this tournament by their Egyptian counterparts by 41-72.This is the second time Angola competes in the African championships, this time held in Mali.In 2008, Angola was placed fourth in the competition.
