Huila, Lubango – The governor of the southern Huíla province, Isaac dos Anjos, urged on Tuesday the new staff of the Agrarian Development Stations (EDA) in order to be encouraged and thus reinforce the intervention and boosting capacity of these institutions. The governor said so to Angop, while addressing the opening ceremony of the training, which is being attended by new staff of EDA.

Kwanza Sul , Amboim – The National De-mining Institute (INAD) removed landmines in a 15.310-square metre of a field and 4.807-square metre in land reserve in Amboim district, coastal Kwanza Sul province. The INAD team removed 29 antipersonnel mines, 30 grenades, 63 shells, one anti-tank mine, 3,510 ammunitions and 13 grenade detonators.

Luanda, Luanda – The President of the Democratic Republic of East Timor, José Ramos Horta, was on Tuesday impressed with the industrialisation process in Angola, during a visit he paid to the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) of Viana disrict in Luanda. The Timorese statesman, who is paying a four-day official visit to Angola, said that it was necessary to see with his own eyes the industrial and urbanisation programme so as to have a clear idea of Angola has done so far.

Kwanza Sul , Porto-Amboim – At least 25 traditional midwives of Capolo in the central Kwanza Sul province ended on Tuesday a training aimed for the betterment of their activities. During 20 days, the participants learnt about public health, early pregnancy, hygiene, basic sanitation, maternal and infant assistance so as to perform safely their tasks in different rural areas.

Benguela, Benguela - At least 360 cases of drug trafficking were recorded in the first semester of this year in the central Benguela province, less 273 if compared to the previous period. This was said to Angop on Tuesday by the head of narcotic sector of the local Criminal Investigation Department (DPIC), Chief-Inspector José Ukwahanba.

The event is being promoted by provincial secretariat of Trade and Hotels. Luanda, Luanda – Experts of the National Tax Department (DNI) will as from this month start paying visits to some main properties in Luanda, so as to learn about their needs and thus clarify them on the new regulation about real estate tax. According to a press note, which reached to Angop on Tuesday in Luanda, property owners will also be clarified on the functioning of the new deduction regime at the source.

Huambo, Huambo – The government of the central Huambo province may reap at least AKZ 50 million in 2012 through revenues. This was said to Angop on Tuesday by the vice governor for economic matters, Henrique Deolindo Barbosa. The collection of these revenues is part of the new taxation, legal authorisation and fines, among others.
