Angolan Vice-president poses for family photo

Equatorial Guinea, Malabo – The Angolan vice-president, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, posed on Thursday for a family photo with the heads of State and Governments at the 17th session of the African Union Conference in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. The traditional photo session took place in one of corridors of Sipopo conference palace, in Malabo new town, after the opening ceremony of the summit of the African Union, happening from this Thursday to Friday. 

Angolan and Vietnamese state of co-operation debated

Angola,  Luanda - Angola's Secretary of State for co-operation, Exalgina Gamboa, met on Thursday in Luanda a Vietnamese delegation, led by its Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Doan Xujan Hung. After the meeting, the official told the journalists that the encounter was aimed at debating the political situation in the southern, northern Africa regions and Asia, as well as the reinforcement of the co-operation with Vietnam.  

Students clarified on HIV/AIDS prevention methods

Cunene,  Ondjiva – Students of the Administration and Management High School (IMAG) in Ondjiva district in the southern Cunene province attended on Thursday a lecture on the transmission and prevention methods against HIV/AIDS. Promoted by the Civil Protection Commission, on the fringes of the workshop on Risks and Disasters Management, the lecture was aimed at raising awareness of the students on the prevention and transmission methods of the said disease.

Culture sector wants greater valorisation of national languages

Angola, Ondjiva - The director of the culture department in the southern Cunene province, Celestino Vicente, considered on Thursday as necessary in Ondjiva district, further study and research for the valorisation of the national languages, habits and customs in order to retrieve the traditional values in the region.   

Protection forces trained on personal security techniques

Angola,  Luanda – At least 90 staff of the Command for the Protection of Protocol Personalities (CPIP) ended on Thursday in Luanda an upgrading course on personal security.  The closing ceremony of the training was led by the advisor of the commander general, commissioner António Martins de Sousa "Kipakassa".   

Angola complies with ILO recommendations - Trade union official

Angola,  Luanda - Angola has been complying with the recommendations of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) regarding the improvement of working and salary conditions of the employees.  This was said to Angop on Friday in Luanda by the national secretary general of the Angolan Trade Union (UNTA-CS), Manuel Viaje, while addressing the opening ceremony of a workshop on international labour standards.  

Legislative package sets up parameters for journalism activity

Angola,   Benguela - The Minister of the Social Communication, Carolina Cerqueira, said on Thursday in the central Benguela province that the legislative package on media will set up parameters for journalism activity of informing, educating and entertaining the readers, listeners and viewers.

Luanda to host CPLP and China business meeting

Angola, Luanda - Angola will hold on 20-21 July the second businessmen’s meeting of economic and commercial cooperation between China and the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP).  This was announced in a press conference in Luanda by the secretary general of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola (CCIA), António Tiago Gomes.  

Vice-President in Malabo

The Angolan vice-president, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, arrived on Wednesday in Malabo city in Equatorial Guinea, where he will attend the 17th ordinary conference of the African Union (AU) from 30 June to 1 July.
