CPA, COA and UK ambassador to discuss London games

Luanda , Luanda – The Angolan participation in the Olympics and Paralympics Games, to be held in London in 2012, will be discussed in Luanda by the Angolan departments of  Paralympics, Olympics Committee (CPA), (COA) and the UK ambassador to Angolan. According to a press release from CPA, which reached Angop on Thursday, the meeting was requested by UK embassy in Angola, having into account the holding the two greatest Olympics  world event. 

78 illegal foreigner citizens detained

Angola, Mbanza Kongo – At least 78 foreign citizens from various nationalities were arrested in the last days by public order police in the northern Zaire province, for their illegal entrance to the country. According to the report from the Migration and Foreign Services (SME) released to Angop on Thursday in the region, 16 citizens are from Congo Brazzaville and 11 come from DR Congo.

Climate changes for 2012/2020 discussed

Luanda, Luanda – The climate changes for 2012/2020 period were discussed this Thursday  in Luanda during the 7th ordinary session of the multi-sectorial commission for environment, led  by Environment Minister, Fátima Jardim. According to a press note, which reached Angop on Thursday, the meeting also analysed the African strategic proposal on climate changes, for new Angolan conservation areas and the holding of a high level seminar on environmental sanitation to be held soon in Kigali, Rwanda.

Angola ratifies 32 international labour conventions

Angola, Luanda – The co-ordinator of the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Fernando Fonseca said on Thursday in Luanda that 32 international conventions ratified by Angola shows the compliance of the country with the human rights recommendations such as the labour rights. Fernando Fonseca said so to Angop, on the sidelines of the workshop on the new challenges of safety and health at workplace. 

Gospel music concert gathers 70 singers in Lubango

Angola, Lubango – A gospel music concert, under the slogan “Louvai a Deus no firmamento do seu poder” will happen on Sunday in Lubango district in the southern Huíla province. This is an initiative of the juvenile group of Estrela da Huíla and Coral Experimental group. The event will gather 70 gospel singers. 

Sporting do Bié competes in football tournament in Huambo

Angola,  Kuito – The lack of the senior males football championship in the central Bié obliged its team of Sporting Club Petróleos compete in the similar competion in Huambo province. This was said to Angop on Thursday in Kuito district by the secretary general of Sporting Club Petróleos of Bié, Carlos dos Reis. According to him, the participation of the team is already confirmed. 

Theatre and dance groups urged to register

Cunene,  Ondjiva – The director of Culture in southern Cunene province, Celestino Vicente, urged on Thursday in Ondjiva district the theatre, dance and music groups to register in the local culture department, so as to benefit from the supports by the governmental programmes, aimed for the artistic development in the region. Speaking to ANGOP, the source said that groups should be legalised in order to facilitate their locations.  

INFRASAT gets distinction

Luanda, Luanda - The Angolan satellite telecommunication company (INFRASAT) was recently distinguished in South Africa due to its technological engagement in the services to clients. This information can be read on a press note from the referred company, which reached Angop on Thursday.  

Malanje ready to receive 150 returnees

Malanje, Malanje – The northern Malanje province has already created conditions to receive 150 returnees, among children, youths, adults and old people, from the Republics of Zambia, Namibia and D.R Congo, under the voluntary repatriation process to start on 4 July in 2011. This was said to Angop on Thursday by the head of social reintegration department, Maurício Kudijikila. 

Over 1.000 illegal foreign citizens expelled out

Cabinda, Cabinda – At least 1.566 illegal foreign citizens were expelled out the northern Cabinda province from 8 to 29 June by the Migration and Foreigner Services (SME), Angop learnt. Among this number, 1.390 are from DR Congo and 43 come from Congo Brazzaville. This action resulted from an operation carried out by SME on 8 June, aimed at expelling out all illegal foreign citizens.
