Angolans learn about Zango urbanisation project

Luanda - The progress of the urbanisation project in Zango ward, in Viana district, here, this Thursday was evaluated by the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, during his field work.

In the Zango ward, the President was briefed on the urbanisation project which expects to build 51 flats with 15 floors and with 112 apartments each.

From this number of metallic and concrete-made buildings, six are in a conclusion phase, while the other four already have three floors built.

Still in the framework of the first phase of this project, 16 buildings are in an initial phase.

Urban re-arrangement strategy for Cazenga district presented

Luanda - The urban re-arrangement strategy for Cazenga district, without relocating the residents to other sites, was presented Thursday during a ceremony attended by the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.

Worked out by the consultant Dar al Handasah company, the project foresees, at the initial phase, the construction of residences in vacant plots of land, aimed at housing families that will be removed from their houses without the minimum living conditions.

Italian embassy runs workshop on urban management

Luanda - A workshop on Luanda's urban management will take place here on 22 October promoted by the Italian embassy in Angola, Angola learnt on Thursday from a press release.

According to the communiqué, the meeting that coincides with "Italian Language Week in the World" celebrated on 21-26 October, depicts the different options of exploitation of public urban spaces in Angola.

Presenting the topic will be the Italian lecturer Cláudio Di Curzio.

Modernity Eases Construction of Tunnels to City Centre

Luanda- University lecturer Phan Van Duc this Friday said that turning Luanda into a modern city with tall buildings and restructuring roads will minimise transport problems, since it will facilitate the construction of tunnels to the metropolitan.

According to the civil engineer who was speaking to ANGOP on the emerging of new buildings in Luanda, this can happen within some yeare, when the city becomes well organised in terms of architectonic arrangement.
