Cameroon has taken a good option towards qualification for the 8th African under 17 championship, to take place in Algeria next year. The under 17 Lions who were playing host to Gabon at the Mfandena sports complex in Yaounde, carried the day 2-0. The match counted for the first leg of the first round qualifiers for the championship. Cameroon proved to be more enterprising in the match and it was only logical that the fruit of their labour paid off.

Abdoulaye (not his real name), 27, tried to illegally migrate from Mali to Spain a few months ago, but he was intercepted by the Spanish authorities in northern Morocco and sent home. Since then he has been living in Gao, the last big town in Mali before the Sahara crossing, trying to scrape together enough money to try again.
